A subtraction project: the removal of dark and bulky structures existing from eighties for a young client, an HIP HOP pharmacist who wanted to see more light.
So “fiat lux” : we have chosen the ultra bright and famous 2500 W Taraxacum lamp by A. Castiglioni as visual core of the space, and we designed low containers , for the inner balcony upstairs , that, filtering light through the coloured plexiglass back , protect from pharmacy’s clients gazes from below, while allow light pass through.
Upstairs is the laboratory where pharmacist prepares drugs: we used waferboard panels on the floor and bespoke designed containers on wheels.
External electricity system and “submarine look” lights are close to the big golden drugs containing drawers , left , together with the wood front desk elements, from the ’80.
The concrete column in the centre has been restored showing its real essence and it has been dignified by a Bisazza mosaic base.
Door handle, blown glass outer sign and big red cross not to go unobserved.
